I was a camera operator for the West-Highland line episode of this charming series, following Dame Julie Walters on her journey from Fort William to Duirinish on the world famous Jacobite steam train. Shot on Sony PMW-F55's.
"Dame Julie’s idea, however, takes in such wonderful coastal scenery (and characters) that it’s difficult not to be beguiled. Who doesn’t want to see a steam train, in this case The Jacobite used in Harry Potter, chugging across the famous Scottish viaduct used in the films? She even ate a bacon buttie, with the rashers cooked on the shovel used to fuel the engine’s fire. Smoked bacon, of course. But like all travel, it’s not the hills and viaducts that really lift your spirits (though they help), but the people."
